Database Architect

Position Summary:

Solution Tree is in need of a Database Architect to manage the company’s data and processes across multiple key systems. This position is responsible for defining the policies, procedures, models, and technologies to be used in collecting, organizing, storing and accessing company information. This role is also responsible for developing strategies and structures to connect data ecosystems and ensure data governance across the company.

Summary of Essential Job Functions:

Achieve organizational goals by defining, integrating, and upgrading a comprehensive architecture to support applications, platforms, and databases.
Maintain the data integrity by determining structural requirements, and developing and installing solutions.
Ensure adherence to the regulations and guidelines for technological systems and safeguarding of data.
Understand the data needs of all departments and how departments need to access and share the data.
Understand the business logic in current systems and develop the data plans to optimize systems with best practices.
Analyze the current state of the company’s databases and define a plan to integrate systems and create a source of truth.
Work closely with Application Development team to assist the database design for the IT projects
Represent data governance on cross-departmental teams and projects as appropriate
Assist other Data Specialists in the company to improve the process efficiency and data accuracy
Lead the data warehouse project to provide the timely and accurate reports to the business heads and executives.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Required Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or information systems
8+ years’ experience with various database technologies, primarily MS SQL
1-2 years previous experience as a Database Architect or a senior DBA with the enterprise level of software architecture design and implementation experience from data perspective
Understanding of data analysis, business principles, and operations
Strong data modeling skills
Experience with cloud data hosting and data management like AWS, Azure
Experience with building ELT processes by using technologies like SSIS, Boomi, or similar.
Experience with building the frontend reports with the capability to drill down to the details by leveraging BI tools like AWS QuickSight, Tableau, Zoho Analytics or similar.
Experience with data warehouse design and implementation is a plus
Experience with Netsuite and/or Salesforce is a plus
Good documentation and communication skill
