The Production Editor works closely with authors and specializes in project management; developmental editing, including restructuring and rewriting text as needed; asking probing queries to ensure accuracy and clarity; and copyediting for final polish. The Production Editor is deeply involved in the entire production process, including preparing files for formatting, correcting text design, ensuring print quality, and checking printer proofs. The Production Editor ensures the highest quality finished book.

Minimum requirements
College degree and a minimum of 3 years of experience of developmental editing books in a supervised publishing setting is required. Knowledge of CMS, book structure, and the publishing process are essential. APA familiarity is a plus. Demonstrated proficiency in editing on the editorial test. Proficiency in Word and Outlook, willingness and ability to learn to use specialized editing tools. Strong communication skills and a proactive editorial approach are essential.
