Position Overview: The Executive Vice President (EVP) of Publications, Events, Professional Development, and Ed Tech oversees strategic and operational leadership of these core business units within the organization. This executive role requires a visionary leader who can drive growth, innovation, and excellence, ensuring alignment with the organization’s mission and business objectives. The EVP will manage multidisciplinary teams, develop strategic partnerships, and guide the creation and execution of impactful books, events, and educational programs that serve customers and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Strategic Leadership:
    • Develop and implement comprehensive strategies for the publications, events, professional development and Ed Tech units that align with the overall goals of the organization.
    • Lead long-term planning and budget forecasting to achieve financial targets and ensure sustainability and growth.
    • Drive market analysis and adapt strategies to capitalize on industry trends and emerging opportunities.
    • Engage with key authors and associates at internal and external events to maintain connectivity and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
    • Represent the Publications, Events, Professional Development, and Ed Tech teams in ongoing discussions and monthly meetings as an integral member of the Solution Tree Leadership and Executive Teams.
  2. Publications Oversight (Books):
    • Support the acquisitions and production process for print and digital books, ensuring high standards of quality, efficient workflows, and adherence to timelines.
    • Oversee budgetary management and cost-effective strategies for book production to meet financial targets.
    • Maintain relationships with key partners, including printers and distribution channels, to optimize production and delivery.
  3. Event Management:
    • Lead the planning and execution of conferences, workshops, seminars, and webinars, ensuring they deliver valuable and engaging experiences across in-person and virtual formats.
    • Partner with event management team to develop innovative formats and programs that increase attendance and participant satisfaction.
    • Secure and manage partnerships and vendor relationships to support and elevate events.
  4. Professional Development:
    • Guide the strategic operations of the professional development teams ensuring timely delivery of contracted services.
    • Expand the reach and accessibility of programs through partnerships and the use of technology-driven solutions.
  5. Ed Tech
  • Oversee the ongoing design, development, and deployment of our Ed Tech products, ensuring high-quality, user-centric, and scalable solutions that address the needs of educators.
  • Work collaboratively with sales and marketing to expand the user base for our Ed Tech products.
  1. Team Management and Development:
    • Lead and inspire a high-performing team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and professional growth.
    • Mentor and support team members, ensuring they have the resources and guidance needed to achieve their goals.
    • Drive cross-functional collaboration between units to maximize efficiencies and optimize outcomes.
  2. Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Represent the organization as a thought leader at industry events, conferences, and key meetings.
    • Build and maintain relationships with industry leaders, partners, and other key stakeholders to enhance the organization’s visibility and influence.
    • Collect feedback from members and stakeholders to continuously refine and improve offerings.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Publishing, Event Management, Education, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 10 years of senior leadership experience in publications (specifically book production), event management, and/or professional development.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement successful strategic initiatives and drive substantial business growth.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets, forecasts, and financial targets.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to build relationships and collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Adept at leading through change and fostering an innovative, adaptive environment.
  • Knowledge of industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices related to book publishing, event management, educational programs, and education technology
